Grants in Action: 2025-2026
Donations to the Grand Ledge Education Foundation are awarded through educator grants that bring new ideas, materials, and experiences into classrooms across the district.
From literacy and STEAM to wellness and enrichment, these grants directly support students and educators where they need it most.
2025-2026 Grants in Action
Unified Sports at Beagle and Hayes This grant supports the Unified Sports program at Beagle & Hayes to purchase Unified Sports specific equipment. The Unified Sports program helps students from different backgrounds and abilities work together, encourage one another, and gain a variety of skills as they train to compete in Special Olympics events.
Comet TV Equipment This grant purchases additional equipment for Comet TV. This will increase the quality of the weekly news production, allow the news team to successfully meet their deadlines, and deliver a quality production to our student body every week.
From Sounds to Stories This grant purchases Science of Reading aligned, skill-based decodable books to support early literacy and intervention. These books give students more opportunities to practice with controlled text and, most importantly, to see themselves as successful, confident readers.
Botany Lab Equipment This grant helps support a new class offering at the High School -- Botany! The new growing equipment will give students the opportunity to grow their own plants and design and run their own experiments.
Field Trip to the Wright Museum The Grant will provide students in AP African American Studies and the Black Student Union an opportunity to go on a field trip to the Wright African American Museum in Detroit. This will enhance the educational experience students' knowledge of African American history and culture.
Exploring Force and Motion with Lego This Grant provides key components for all Grand Ledge 3rd grade students to explore key STEAM concepts from the Balancing Forces unit, applying their knowledge of force, motion, and engineering design in a fun, hands-on way. The LEGO derby set will be shared among all Grand Ledge elementary schools.
Animal Themed STEAM This grant will provide hands-on experiences to enhance the science curriculum. From BK-4th grade, students will participate in a variety of lesson supporting experiences, including both incubation at the younger levels and dissection at the older levels. Science is fun!
March Book Madness 7.0 This bracket style tournament matches picture books in one-on-one games. Students vote for their favorite, ending with a 'championship' matchup between the top books. The top vote getter is declared the Wacousta March Book Madness winner.
